The following are informative minutes of the April 27, 2006 meeting of the WCA Board of Directors. The portion of the minutes dealing with confidential attorney-client communications, personnel issues, legislative strategies, communications with legislators, communications with government employees, political contribution strategies and specific complaints or information about individual practitioners is considered confidential by the board. Minutes

 

The board met at 8:00 a.m. to attend the Chiropractic Examining Board hearing on distance learning. At the conclusion of the hearing, the board re-assembled at the WCA building in Madison at approximately 9:00 a.m.

 

The board welcomed Marna Moola, DC as a director replacing Jack Masche, DC. The entire board was re-briefed on its anti-trust responsibilities.

 

Motion: Moved by McMahon, seconded by Adams to approve the minutes of the March 2, 2006 meeting. Motion carried.

 

S. 1955

 

The board discussed the WCA’s efforts with regard to S. 1955, a piece of federal legislation that would end all state mandates. The approximately 3 hour discussion reviewed the WCA’s action plan to defeat the bill and the preliminary plan should the bill be passed and signed into law by the President.

 

The meeting was adjourned approximately 2:00 p.m.
